Pattern Artist FAQ
How do I get my pattern images to a desktop computer?
There are a couple ways. Each involves selecting one or more patterns in the library (tap and hold, or tap, hold and drag) and then tapping on the share button.
(1) Save them to the Photos library, and transfer the same way you transfer photos.
(2) Email them to yourself, and import them from the email.
(3) Copy them to the pasteboard, and paste them into another app that can perform the transfer (such as "AirPasteboard").
Can I share pattern files between devices?
To share a single pattern, select the pattern then tap the Share button. Tap the Submit to Public Gallery action, but when the email comes up, change the destination of the email to your own email address. (Use the Submit..." action because it includes a copy of the pattern file - the "Mail" action doesn't.) On the other device, open the email and tap the pattern file attachment "pattern_1.ptn" (not the image), then tap Open in Pattern Artist.
To share an entire library of patterns, tap the info button on the library screen and then tap Manage Libraries. Select the library you wish to share (the current library will be selected by default), tap Archive, and address the email to yourself. On the other device, open the email, tap the attachment "library.ptns", then tap Open in Pattern Artist. This will create a new library. To merge the contents with another library already on the device, move or copy some or all patterns to the other library (see Managing Libraries in the app help).
How do I delete patterns I don’t like?
Tap and hold on the pattern to select it, then tap it again to bring up an “edit menu” with options to delete and duplicate.
Are there any restrictions on the usage of pattern images created with Pattern Artist?
The output images can be freely used without restriction. (The internal collections of template patterns and texture images used in Pattern Artist are covered under the application's copyright, and cannot be used outside of Pattern Artist without the permission of the author.)
What languages are supported?
Only English is supported at this time. Additional languages may be added in a future release.
Is there an Android or Windows 8 version?
Pattern Artist is currently only available on Apple devices.
Is it safe?
Just don't cut yourself on the sharp designs you create.
